primer bulb

Took the boat out and made my first long runs of the year this past weekend. Day one had no problems, but day two had a minor issue I am hoping someone can help me with. Motor runs great but when I stopped to fish on two occasions for an hour or so, it gave me trouble trying to start back up. Cranked it for a bit and then thought to check the bulb. It was a bit soft (not sucked flat) and when I pumped it back up the motor started immediately. This only happened twice in an 8 hour day including many runs and restarts, but I'd like to track it down. I'm thinking since it runs perfectly once started, it's probably not the fuel pump or anything. I am just running the fuel side and pre-mix my fuel. Do you think I just need to replace the bulb?

If so, which bulb should I get? I hear the OMC is best but I am having trouble figuring out which part #. Seems some of them come in parts. Does anyone have the part # for a fully assembled OMC bulb for a 93 150, 3/8" fuel hose?

On a side note, I'm curious if this motor can be pull started and how you would go about doing that. Had a starter go out last year and thought I'd jot down the procedure in case this happened again....nothing in the OEM manual.

It's normal for the bulb to be soft after running. Sounds like the bulb is doing it's job. When it's hard to start are you using the choke?

You might have a little gunk in the carbs. Try running a shock treatment of Seafoam through the system (2oz. Seafoam to 1 Gallon fuel). Use a 6 Gallon portable tank. See if your starting problem improves.

No, you can't pull start them. Look closely at the mtr. How would you get a rope around the flywheel?
