I was having problems with my solenoid last year not working. Come to find out the plunger inside was unable to move freely. I took a drill bit and drilled it out a little and it started working fine. A couple of weeks ago I discovered that the same thing was happening. So I did the same thing as I did last year and it is working fine again. It seems that the plastic body of the solenoid is being deformed somehow. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem? If so what was the fix? I am looking into replacing the solenoid but I would like to know what is causing it so that it does not happen to the new solenoid. Also is there a way to go away from the primer solenoid and go with a different setup.

Thanks

There is no different setup except for a manual choke. the carbs on your engine are not set up with them and besides, the primer system is far superior.

Thanks for the reply Silvertip I didn't think there would be. I will just go ahead and order the new solenoid.
