I have a 90 hp mercury force outboard engine. When I squeeze the primer ball it never gets hard. Does that mean there's a leak in the hose ? Sometime it has a hard time starting, I am thinking there air getting in to the fuel line ?
I am no expert but I would have to say there is a leak in the line some where, a new bulb and hose are fairly cheap so i would take it off if nothing else is put some air to to it and see if there is some air leaking out.
