So my manual says that my trailer has a bearing buddy style hub. I have never seen this style and am unsure right now.

I expected the cover to come off a lot easier, but it’s not rubber it’s hard plastic. It just doesn’t feel to be like it simply pulls off.

While trying to pry it out, the race and spring came out and the plastic cap just doesn’t look like it comes out that way.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like a sprung / broke the bearing buddy.

The end doesn’t come off. They are not serviceable.

BB is pressed into the hub. Need to remove the entire assembly to service bearings.

Take a hammer and tap around the end as you rotate the wheel. Walk it out of the bore

Thanks for the response.

So will I find a grease nipple under that cap?

Are you saying I have to buy a new plastic cap every time I do the bearings? This just wasn't what I expected at all.

Never saw one like that. Didn't the manual describe how to service it? If not, contact the manufacturer for the procedure.

At any rate, looks like you broke it. Remove the metal part from the hub, and then remove the hub, repack the bearings and reassemble. Replace the hub cover with a Bearing Buddy brand, grease until the spring shows movement, and you'll be good to go for years.

Makes perfect sense!! I understand now.

No!!!! The Princecraft manual had nothing, no diagram not even an explanation I can find. I am a little sour over that, caused me too much of a headache.

Thanks again.

Did the manual not say to refer to the trailer manual?
Your dealer should have provided that.

Nope. I went through everything I have here.

No regrets buying Canadian............. but it is harder to find info on a PrinceCraft than a Lund.
