Pro 60 power tilt bleeding down??

So I've had this boat for about four months now, a 16' Bayrunner with a 1999 yamaha Pro 60 and a 1991 4 stroke 9.9. I've noticed that frequently the power tilt on the 60 will not stay tilted up, and it drifts down slowly. When it drifts too low it changes the steering, and if it is too high it has a tendency to swing to port. I don't yet have a repair manual for this motor, and the owner's manual doesn't give me much info. Does the power tilt need fluid added or air bled out? how would that work?

didn't get any response from the last question I posted about my 9.9, but I've since got that fixed anyway. This seems like a likely group to answer my question.

Re: Pro 60 power tilt bleeding down??

Sounds like a a somewhat common problem om mid-size yamaha's, I had the same on my 02 F40. According to this forum , it may be debris stuck in one of the valves in the trim unit.
The owners manual should give you some info on how to check the oil level and how to bleed air. This may not solve your problem , but if you do a search on here , you'll find more info on this issue.
