Hi,
i`m new here an glad, to find a special forum for the Yamaha outboards although the older ones.
I renew the electric connection between the 2 batteries (new mainswitches and vsr from BEP, new batterieloader) but I didn`t taste the harness from the motor.
Nevertheless the analog tachometer (the nr. should be 6Y5-W0080-12-00 with 3 oil-lamps) doesn`t work anymore.
On idle the AC-voltage between the green and black cable out of the unit are 1,8 - 2,5 volts. By little higher rotation there are 3,5 - 3,6 volts. DC-voltage 1-12 volts from an extern power supply let the needle of the tach go higher. So I can`t believe, that the tach is defect. Otherwise there is voltage between the black and green cable out of the unit.
But connecting the tach`s green/black cable with the green/black cable from the unit it doesn`t work.
Can everyone help me?
Thanks a lot and good evening, Jonny
