I am new to the boat scene and just got myself a 89 capri 2.3L and I am having problems with it! We took it out for the first time and wnet to hit the horn button and the boat started to loose power so we headed back to the dock. When we got close to the dock I hit the horn switch again and the boat died. Now the boat does not get any power to the ignition switch (key)
but there is 12 volts at solinoid. Is there a circuit braker anywhere and also is there a place where I can find a fuse box diagram?

Thanks

Re: Problems with my 89 Capri

Look under the dash for a loose or burned wire or connection. The horn may have had a poor connection that got hot and burned the +12 feed / ignition. My 85 capri is powered by an outboard, so all breakers/fuses on on the outboard. Could be the same with your 2.3l. Check around the motor for a fuse box and also under the dash, but I'm fairly sure from your description that you have a poor/burn connection somewhere.

Re: Problems with my 89 Capri

I have the exact same boat, and this spring I had a similar problem. After chasing wires and getting no where I took it in and it actually ended up being the fuse box itself. Starts right up now...
