Hey there knowers of all that is worth knowing... I have another question for you. I was dinking with the boat while waiting for parts to ariave and when advancing the throttle the fast idle arm pops up on its own. I can hold it down and everything works fine.. however I don't want to have to do this as it requires both hands.. any sugestions???

Thanks again.

Re: problems with my control box... help please

Hi guys,
My first time here ever. I don't know a whole lot about engines so I am asking for help here. I have a 80 HP Mercury outboard motor that will not start. It crank but will not start. I check to see if spark has fire but no fire. Can some one help. Tell me what to check or and how to check it.

Thx,

Need help.

hey jegomes i have read you can put a cord on the lever and the key guard to keep it down, kind of a redneck way of doing things but it would work, it would free up one arm for that beverage..
