first off I'm new to carborators. I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I'm sure I'll be able to pick it up.
I have a 3.0L Mercruiser. I was out on Saturday and for some reason I couldn't get to max RPM's or up to speed. so we took the flame arrestor off and took a look at the carb after checking for things draging off the boat or prop. on WOT the choke flap was all the way open, if we held it closed a little we could get another 10-12 mpg and 1000 RPM's out of the motor. It seems like the choke flap shouldn't be open the entire way like it was, could there be something wrong with my choke?
