just brought boat home today.

fired right up, no problems, yet.

then notice big crack in the log manifold on the left side. when i put away for winter, i pulled every plug on motor and made sure no water in anything.

then notice water temp is holding round 160, then shoots up to round 210, and i notice there is no more water coming out of outdrive either by prop, or on the sides.

shut down motor quickly, see pieces of black burnt, what appears to be plastic laying on street.

is that the impeller fried coming out the exhaust, and that is why the motor was getting hot from no water???

thanks!!!

Re: problems with temperature

Very well could be the impeller died first then overheated everything else, the exhaust hoses from the elbows to Y pipe, the exhaust shutters, you name it. All you can do is start taking the risers off and checking, pulling the drive off and check the pump and housing and the water pocket cover in the upper.
