4200 sure does, what works well and stays white for a long time?

I had to re-read a couple posts; two products were getting mixed up.

Marine Tex was mentioned as staying white longer.

3M 4200/5200 seems to "dirty up" quickly.

3M 5200 Marine Adhesive between the two adhesives 5200 or 4200, but there is a little more to the equation in filling holes.

For filling holes, I use epoxy followed by gelcoat paste. 5200 is good stuff and has its place, and fiberglass repair is not one of them.

As an FYI, 5200 is very temperature sensitive. It will take forever to cure at cold temps. Keep that in mind when working with it. That also means that if you store an open tube of 5200 in a ziploc in your freezer, you won't be buying a $ 15.00 tube of adhesive every time you want to use it.

Thanks for the tip. Does that work for 4200 as well?

Gelcoat paste, Contact Spectrum Color in Washington. They can color match just about all of the major boat builders. You may have to get the color code from your boat builder and they will then match. We have an 8 year old Sea Ray and the color match is perfect.

For epoxy I used West Systems, and may or may not add thickeners as required.

4200 in the freezer, never tried it. Give it a try. Worst case unused leftovers harden. If it works let us know.
