To bad you have to "Hack" all this together!! :D

Man looking good...

I just did a trailer swap on mine and moved my old wheels and tires to the new trailer... old wheels, new tires... that is why I swapped them... I am not buying more tires again so soon.... 13" new tires... 15" rims with bad tires..

so new trailer has old 13" rims and new tires for now....

A small trick that I have used to syphon gas is,fill the hose that you are using completely full ( use your finger to plug one end of the hose and keep it there, now then carefully fill the hose with old gas or whatever you have until it is "absolutely" full, this is very important) now keep your finger pressed tightly over the end that was used to fill the hose. Remove your finger from the end of the hose that is going into your tank remember to still keep your finger over the end that your poured the gas into. Keep this end lower than the boat's tank now remove your finger, the gas should start to drain.
Obviously this would be a 2 person job, the gas that you poured into the hose acts as a syphon because as it starts to drain it creats a vaccum thereby it sucks the gas out. Hopes this works.

Vegas,
The ideas just keep rolling.
I have used a Ventura type vac pump, used in conjunction with air compressor.
You can also make one with a small "Y " pipe
connect to you fuel fill and just bow air in the other part of the Y pipe and it will create a vac.
Don't blow air into the tank just the pipe.
Good luck man.

I have an old electric fuel pump that I use a couple time/year for odd things like pumping a tank dry. Used it on my project boat and it had 15 gallons of old fuel and water out in 10 minutes. You could also use the primer bulb from your outboard, to get the fuel moving, if you are going to siphon it out. Pump it until fuel is at the primer bulb then remove the primer bulb.

I ordered a set of wheel/tires from southwestwheel.com a couple years ago, probably the same dealie-o as the place you are looking at. Mine were Goodyear Marathons on white wheels, good tires, cheap rims. Locally it would have cost me an extra $150 on 3 tires.

Re: PROJECT ~ JEZABEL 23' Sleekcraft Executive ~ Turbo Restore ~ Tons of pics

Thanks all you guys for the great ideas on siphoning!!!!!!!!:D

Well I CL found 4 trailer tires and rims...$200 2004 Carlisle 205/75/14 load C
rims are white painted steel with 4 1/2inch spread etc.....kinda old rubber...

guy wouldnt budge below $200 beans.....
well it wasnt the ultimate deal but it works for hopefully a couple seasons.....beats $400 for new tires and $180 for new rims etc.....

I would have REALLY liked to get the aluminum rims....but at $135 ea and would need 5...plus shipping get prestty pricey...

I opted for these...and I can get another matching rim tire for the spare pretty easy and reasonably etc on CL as I need a spare!

heres all the pics of the carb OH and new tires and the old tire rims currently on the sleek http://lasvegaspix.com/projects/sleekcraft9/

heres some stuff we got free from a pal........not bad!
we needed a horn for the sleekcraft....the battery switch is worth $30 or so...always need throwables and bumpers!

Vegas,
I no it's too late now but, I had bought two new rims and tires off ebay for 55 bucks each. 14". The tires were 6 ply rated for 2700 #s each.
They look a lot like yours. You can see them early in my thread. I wanted to get Polished alum. but was trying to just get the boat home for as little as possible.

Thanks for the ideas Dan.....
Heck I still hafta score a fuel bulb type line and tank for my outboard stuff.....otherwise I woulda went that route for sure ...
ps since I dont have any electric pumps laying around (or I would definetly use the electirc pump way if I had one around here) Im hitting Harborfreight this weekend...so I may see if I can find something like that there!

Hey Dan.... mebbe well run into each other out on Lake Mead here once it warms up!!!!!!!

Vegas, that isn't too bad of a deal on the tire / wheels. I went out to work on my trailer last week and one of mine had "popped". I think they were made about the same time as your goodyears:D. Keeep up the work, the boat looks great!

Vegas looking good, nice score on the wheels/tires. Can't wait to see the sleek in the water:)

You can boat year round out there in the desert I'd imagine.

What is the tentative splash date?

I've got those same rims on mine I think. I'll eventually look for some of those alum rims when the boat is all done as icing on the cake.

Re: PROJECT ~ JEZABEL 23' Sleekcraft Executive ~ Turbo Restore ~ Tons of pics

Thanks for the tip Pops......

Sprint I hear ya on the icing....I'll be more motivated on spending when its warmer out! I really want the cool rims, but were gonna wait till we actually have her out on the water and tested out etc

Hi Mike...well yes you can boat all year...BUT it is cold as heck here too ya know! 32 degrees tonight, high 44....with the dry air it bites into the skin feels colder than Mich cold to me...so no massive hurry for a splash other than to get her in the water and ready for some 60 degree or better air temps! call me a wussey!

Hi Bill Hvac and thanks! I prob shoulda kept on shopping, but they fit the bill and I was tired of waiting for a deal on rims tires and was afraid I might blow $600 or more on new stuff! (rim&tires)...
================================sleekcraft news flash

Well, with the other days rain, I had some water get in the boat! I shop vacced it out....I really need to drain out the engine to make sure it doesnt frost crack the block...tonight I have a 100 watt bulb running in the engine compartment area in a clamp light. that would suck to wake up to a fire! Ill drain the block tomorrow (winterize) since its getting below freezing (found ice in a bucket of water)

also the local feral cat got under the boat cover...seen him come out one night...danged renter neighbors next door (from 2 years ago) abandoned it, and they were "animal lovers" yeah right.......anyways..dang cat wont leave the area...gets into my garbage too...theres a no kill shelter in town, I need to get some traps and drop it off there.

Pulled one tire off, yanked the bearing buddy and gloopy greasy junk all over my jacket YIKES! and I liked that jacket! i didnt thinik I was getting dirty...but the grease was liquified....stunk like 90wt too.....
bearings looked ok....had a bear of a time getting the wheel seal off...I've pulled ALOT of wheel seals and this one was one of the worst, I had to destroy it to get it off. I need to get new 4 seals and a set of bearings and races in case of any bad bearings, Ill mess with the other bearings and such once I score some new seals. Hopefully this weekend....

Man the cold has Un motivated me!

Hang in there, it will be nice and warm before you know it! I was thinking of how many days I have till summer, need to get going! I just love playing with wheel bearings, nothing like having wheel bearing grease all over you!

" Man the cold has unmotivated me "
Quote of the day. Its around 20 on Long Island tonight and all I can think about is getting out there tomorrow and tinkering with the boat. We shall see how I feel in the morning, my guess is couch, fire, movie and a blanket.

Thanks Azonic....I wont paint em just yet, we still have to figure out what color to so the trailer in, either silver or a white......wont do black here it gets WAY too hot for black anything! although black rims would look sweet!
