It never rains,but it pours.
In the past month, both my wife and I were promoted. My wife is now the development administrator of the chemistry department of the University of Rochester.I went up an additional rung on the stepladder of civil service.Between the two of us that means a yearly income increase of roughly $21000.On top of that my wife's is retroactive for 3 months.
To put extra cream on the cake. The universty of Rochester just decided that personel that has worked for the university for over 10 years ,will now get complete tuition benefits for their dependents. So now we can stop saving money to put my youngest son through college. It is a good feeling to know that number four's education is now taken care of as well.
I feel like we can finally relax a bit.
Happy holidays.

Does this wage increase mean a new boat? It's more likely a new roof on the house.Besides,my junkboat is a father and son project. So it will stay with me for another bunch of years,it's a fishing rig after all.

Good for you, and your wife!
That education benefit is awesome.
We have that at the university I work at too. It is a relief to know that my kids can be anything they want to, without my wallet going thin.

Good on ya both!!!
