A friend of mine has a 17 or 18 foot Bayliner capri with the 4 cylinder engine. It's a mid to upper nineties version. The prop that was on the boat was not correct and we can't tell what pitch it was.

For those with this boat (or close), what pitch do you run? He is looking for pulling power (ski, tubes, etc) over top end.

Thanks,

Chris, I have a 19' SeaRay Bowrider with a 4.3LX V-6 (205HP) Alpha 1 drive. I use a 21" pitch Rapture propeller. If you have an Alpha 1 outdrive, I would borrow a 15" pitch prop from the prop shop to try it. Adjust up-down in pitch from there until the boat will just reach max RPM with a normal load aboard.

If you go HERE

I found the cross reference to be quite helpful. You can scan the sight and find a form to fill out to get their advise on which prop to consider.

Post a P/N of either prop. Go run it, get a base-line and we can tell ya which way to go. It's the ONLY way to get the correct prop.
