I have a 2000 Crownline 205 BR with the 5.0 EFI Merc and a Alpha outdrive. I currently have a 19p 4 blade stainless Revolution 4 prop on it and will only allow 4100 RPM and 40MPH fully trimmed with a light load. I don't remember the diameter of that prop. The boat comes out of the hole nicely and planes quickly. The problem I am having is getting the prop to get my RPM's in the proper range (4600-4800). I have tried other props without much success. All of these test were done with the same load in the boat and on the same day.

The 3 blade aluminum I tried was a 3 blade 19p with a 14.25 diameter Merc. This prop didn't come out of the hole very good at all but my rpm's did get up to 4800-4900. This prop was in poor shape and should have been used as an anchor if it didn't happen to be my buddys spare.

I also tried a 3 blade stainless 21p also a 14.25 diameter Merc prop. This prop also came out of the hole slowly and my RPM's still fell short of the range I was looking for, but did add a few mph.

The last prop I tried was a 4 blade stainless 21p 14.25 diameter Merc that seemed to work great everwhere except getting out of the hole. This prop got me to 4800 RPM and close to 50 mph. This is what I am looking for, but a little more help getting me out of the hole.

I know it might be impossible to find the perfect prop for my set-up to work everwhere, but this is why I am turning to the people that could give me some options to try.

I talked to a few people and they seem to think that the Revolution 4 prop that I have has to much prop area( prop length) which is keeping me from getting into the RPM range that I need. They tell me to stick with the 19p 4 blade stainless, but find one with less prop area which would still get me out of the hole nicely, get me into the proper WOT and get me a few MPH. Does anyone know of such a prop that I could try? Thanks guys, Kbetts

Re: prop advice

My B-I-L has the same boat/eng. combo....we've ran quite a few props on his and the Apollo LARGE diameter 19P works like a charm on his. Better than any other SS we tested for over-all performance.
A 19P Stiletto will out-run it, but doesn't have the blade area the Large Apollo has.
The Rev4 was intended for heavy, high HP boats and the 205 with the 5.0 doesn't really fall into that class.

Re: prop advice

What diameter Apollo prop would that be walleyehed, 3 or 4 blade? Yea, all the other SS props I tried didn't give me what I was looking for. Luckly, these were props I borrowed from friends of mine, so I didn't have to shell out a bunch of cash to try them them out. Thanks for the responces guys. Now, what did I do with that 21p ss 4-blade I borrowed from Tom...........

Re: prop advice

The Large diameter Apollo is 15-1/8", I believe...lots of blade area.

Re: prop advice

I just wanted to give some feedback to the guys that have helped me out with my prop issues that I have had. I took the advice that Walleyehed gave me about the Apollo 3 blade stainless 19 pitch 15.25" diameter. This is the prop that belongs on my boat. I bought the prop from Iboats last week, recieved it in two days. Can't beat that. I took the boat out Saturday and had great results. The boat came right off plane in no time, just like the 4 blade did. The boat will run 49 mph at 4700 RPM, this is by the speedometer. This is far better than the 4 blade prop that I had on my boat did. With the way gas prices are right now, I want to get as much out of my boat as I can. Thanks guys, and keep up the good work.
