1988 bayliner/trophy center console 16 foot fitted with an 85 hp force outboard... The boat currently has a 13x17 pitch factory prop on the lower unit well this weekend i happen to tweak it... The boat tops out at about 30 mph 32 maybe on a calm day at 5100 rpms can you guys advise me on a prop that may give me alittle more top speed ... i know you have to sacrifice one for the other... im not so concerned about take off as long as it does plane off.. but i would like to get a few more mph out of the boat ... any advise would be greatly appeciated

Re: prop advise

could try raising motor up on transom 1 set of holes at a time theres always room for improvement there (less drag). where is cavitation plate in relation to bottom of transom? you cant just put more pitch on it. you will then be lugging motor and prob have no wot mph improvements.
