Just wondering if there is really only one bolt that you take off then just slide the prop off and slide a new one on, on this motor? Seems almost too simple and I just dont want there to be something I somehow need to take off the other prop or something...

Re: Prop Chang.. '88 merc 35hp

I've only done one modern prop on my 88 50 hp Evinrude.
Yes one bolt/nut.Usually there are tabs that secure the nut you'll need to release them There may be a thrust washer under the prop sometimes it sticks to the prop so be aware don't lose it in the water, under the boat, or in the dark etc. A little grease or other lube on the shaft will make future removal easier.Be sure the nut is secure and the tabs ingaged when assembling.

Hmm... no tabs on the nut... no thrust washer that I can see?? Maybe its just way easier than I ever thought it to be

Looks like it has been on there forever so it might just stay on forever too since it has worked so far... with my luck replacing it would not be good
