Ayuh,... Up in the Prop forum is a thread "Read This First"...
It contains the Required info for dialing in the Right prop...

Captain Loud has almost your same setup, warmed up 4.3 in a 94 1850 LS, and he spins a 23 stainless 3 blade to 5200, which is a bit high, but it's not a real high tech prop, I think it's a Merc Black Max a painted stainless. I think for speed you need a Turbo or Stilletto 23 or maybe BayPro 4 blade in a 22.

What sort of GPS top end are you getting out of that rig?

I think he gets about 57 mph, with a better prop I think he'll get 60

Impressive, wonder what all the mods cost. I'd for a 4bbl and ss.

I have a very similar setup, I can spin my mildly damaged 21P aluminum up over 5000rpm quite easily. I haven't tried to go any farther, but I'm sure it would keep going.

Before I did the motor it would turn 4800rpm and show 47mph on the GPS.

I am going to try a 23P aluminum prop to see what rpm it will bring me down to and then take it from there. The local prop shop has some decent prices and allows you to trade in until you are happy.
