hey all. i have an 81 stingray with a 120 hp mercruiser inline 4. currently i am running a 13x19 prop and bogging the engine since on average i am close to my boats weight limit. i am looking to move to a 13x17 prop and i wanted to know if a prop from an outboard merc will work with an I/O.

Re: prop fitment

It would depend on the hp. an 81 150 hp is the same. If you look up the I/o and the outboard
you are refering to in the prop store here at iboats and compare the part numbers you can tell what will fit.

Re: prop fitment

Ayuh,... The Mercruiser drives, Alpha series, 'n the Bravo I, and the 4, 1/2" large gear case outboards, All can run the same props...
Outboards with the 4" gear case, props will bolt on, but blow out from ventilation, due to the gap at the gear case...

Are ya sure your props are 13" diameter,..??
That's a number usually associated with the 4" cased outboards...

You are definitely heading in the right direction as far as the pitch is concerned. Bond-o provided you with some excellent insight regarding the gearcase size.
