I'm looking to get more speed out of my motor. My current set up is a 2001 Crestliner 1850 Sportfish with a 1996 150 Johnson Faststrike that I just got done rebuilding. The prop on the motor right now is a 14 1/2 x 19. Pushing the boat around 48mph per fishfinder speed peadle wheel at 5800RPM. The boat origionally was I/O conver to OB.

So If I want to get more speed which direction should I looking to get?

PS. This motor is an animal getting out of the hole. Almost fell of my chair when I was test driving the boat with a folding chair. LOL

Lets start with the setup. The antiventplate, just above the prop, should be visable on plane.A gps is better for speed. Is the prop al or ss?It appears you could go to a 21" pitch.

Plate is visable on plane. The prop is aluminum. So higher picth would give it a lil more speed? Also the bottom of the boat is some what scratched up with some minor ding and dent. Would that reduce some speed because of it?
