I have an 84 Evinrude 235. The recomended RPM range for the motor is 4750-5750, with peak horspower at 5250. The prop is a stainless steel 3-blade 14.5x23". The boat is a 1982 Phantom 17' tri-hull Runabout Spirit.

The reaches a maximum speed of 55mph at 5000rpm irregarless of weight in the boat. It has some touble pulling up skiers, which is the sole purpose of it's life.

My parents, aunt, and uncle claim that when the boat was new, it would pull up teams of skiers. Now the boat is old, and has been given to me. I have been working to restore power lost with age, but i think that the 23" prop might just be too much. Do you think the cost of a new prop is worth the performance i would get back?
