So I got my 383 in the mail and it is being installed as I speak. The engine puts out approx. 360 horse which is about 100 over my stock 350/260HP. My boat is a 211 liberator. My current prop is a mercury mirage 21P which would spin the old engine at about 4600 rpm at about 48-50mph. I know my old prop won't be enough so I was thinking a Mirage 23 Pitch? I would like to be able to hit 60 mph with this new combo. What do you think? thanks

I second a 23p being the way to go. From what I have seen and been told, you need to prop those 383s from Merc Reman to run a full 5000rpm at WOT. You probably are not going to get to 60, but you could get close. Good luck

Re: prop for my 383

Hey thanks for the replies. I think I will try a mirage 23 pitch. Is the hull design on the liberators not the best for speed? My buddy has a 23 foot stingray that did almost 65 with 454/330HP

The Liberator is a speedboat usng older technology, of it's time period. The Stingray is designed for speed, using newer hull design technology, it's a younger newer boat company then 4Winns.
