I've put the lower unit back together on my '48 Scottie. The shear pin is ok but when I put the prop on and tighten the cap, it seems like there is too much play. I believe the shear pin has worn over the years and I need one that has a larger diameter, though not much.

Any suggestions? Thanks!!

My info is from 55 so may differ though the scotty/3.5 motors varied little over the years. pin is brass and 5/32 X 7/8" manufacturers number 462-3122.
You should be able to find a match at the local hardware.Obviously could be shortened
if necessary.I don't think a little slop would be any problem on a straight drive motor.
