Picked up a new to me 2005 seahunt navigator 19.2 CC. w/ 2004 Yammy 150 2str engine. Boat has a 6" setback jack plate (mounted in the 2nd hole), estimated weight with 2 passengers/gear around 2600lbs. Yamaha shows RPM range at 4500 -5500. Will be used SW bay fishing in 2'-8' feet of water mostly. Need a prop that can pull up quickly in shallow water. Not too concered with top end speed but don't want to strain the engine. Since the boat came with no prop, would appreciate any recommendations in regards to selection. Thanks

Some 150's had a 2:1 gear ratio and some had a 1.86:1. Your model number will help determine which lower unit you're supposed to have. Do you have someone that would lend you a prop to try? Something in the 20" pitch range would probably be a good starting point.

Thanks a lot ! I have the 1.86. I'll start with a 20.

Re: Prop help - Rig came with no prop

iboats had a prop exchange program a while ago, but I can't find any info on the prop page so it may have gone away. Anybody else know about this?

Anyway, the 20 sounds like a good place to start.
