I just bought my first boat. It's an 1972 17' Fantasy Bowrider with a 2.0l aq130a and 270 outdrive. The boat came with a prop that was just put on because its all they could could find to fit. It's a 14.8"x 17pitch. I know this is way too much prop for this little motor. The boat won't plane with it and im getting only 2800rpm at a gps verified 10mph. I have the book for the boat and am an above average mechanic. The motor is running perfect. Is the correct prop for this boat a 14"x 13pitch? i have seen 14x13 and 14x15. I use the boat mainly for lake fishing but my kids would like to be able to get on a tube behind it. Any advice appreciated. P.S. motor is rated at 130hp with a 5100 rpm redline.
