Re: prop help

Is the Antivent plate(just above the prop) about even with the bottom of the boat.
What size/brand prop now? max speed? Max rpm? Hole shot?
Is the bottom smooth and clean? Are there any devices or deformities in/on the hull that may disturb trhe water near the prop?

Re: prop help

13.25x19 stainless ported mis prop, the cavition plate is 3 inches above bottom , if you let the motor down any more you cant stear the boat, the thing i dont get is i tryed a 17 pitch and i get more slip than i do with the 19, trimed up when its not slipping 5300 rpm

Re: prop help

I think you mean ventilation
(prop loses its grip)slip is much more subtle.
3" is extremely high.
Is the motor on a jack plate? Have you tried reducing the ports or eliminating them?
Is there a whale tail on the motor?Does the boat have trimtabs?
What do you mean "can't steer the boat"?Give us some details of your attempts to solve the problem result details. How about some pics of your setup? You will need to use a host site.
While I'm not aquainted with various props features others may be able to help if they knew what props you have tried and the results.

Re: prop help

no jack plate, tryed props without ports, no wale tail ,no trimtabs when the motor is dowd to where it dont slip the boat pulls to the right so bad its hard to hold on to,omc 17 and 19 with and without cup,13 inch up to 14.5 inch, every type and size stainless with added cup and without, brands you name it ive tryed it, bad enough the shop has gave up and offered to refund money back because they cant figure it out either,to kinda give you an idea it slips worse with a 17 than a 19 same prop different pitch
