Prop help

New owner of 2006 maxum 1800mx
looking to change out prop.... boat seems to take forever to plane out when I have anybody else in boat with me....any help on what prop I have now and what prop I should try ..... looking for better hole shot and planing at lower speeds...

Hi

would love to help. A good friend has the same boat. Really need to know what prop you have on now.
You may run differently to him or use it differently with more people on board and perhaps even at altitude. But he runs a 19” prop. Goes well enough. He had a hi 5 19” on it at one point. Good for wake boarding and getting on plane quick but lost top end compared to a standard 19” 3 blade.

How would I find out what prop it is..... that seems to be the only # I see ..... stamped on outside of prop

If it’s the usual standard prop for this, it will either be on the hub between blades or on the hub behind the nut and locking tab in centre. Will likely say something like 14x19p or a number then 19p or something.

Need to water test at wot current installed prop and check achieved max wot rpm as loaded on flat calm water cond. Seems prop is over pitched and performing as a crippled turtle when out of the hole.. The test will determine if need a prop maximization for motor to run middle to max wot revs range factory stated..
