prop hitting trim tab

i changed my prop and now its hitting my trim tab does anyone have any suggestions should i notch trim tab so it clears it orjust take it off its on a 1989 mercury 70

Unless you have power steering you should keep the trim tab. Filing it away is fairly common, just make it as pretty as you want, not that big a deal.

Mercury has a special trim tab for certain applications 822777A1.

I wouldn't notch it. The prop is about 1/2" too big.
