I thought I'd repost this with a more descriptive subject and see if there's any addtional info floating around out there... <br /><br />Does anyone know whether there were 1971 johnson 4hp delivered with 1970 (or earlier) lower unit ?<br /><br />I have a model 4W71D, Serial E3359491 (4hp weedless). <br />Parts book (even OMC tech support) says the prop/clutch hub for 4W71D is supposed to be 316559 but the shaft hole is too small on that part. <br /><br />I suspect either the factory or a previous owner installed a 1970 (or older) lower unit which says prop/clutch hub is 376769. <br /><br />See post dated April 13,2004 by dperkins4 member 39904 to see previous conversation about this subject.... <br /><br />Thanks....
