Prop installation

I think I will have to ptich up soon. what is involved in changing the prop and is it something that I could do?<br />P.S... i have a new engine and I dont want to mess it up.

Prop change is fairly easy...on yours, it has a lock ring with tabs (likely), one or more of the tabs will be pushed down into a slot in the hub so the nut can't spin. carefully lift those enough to clear the hub, and un-screw the nut.<br />pull all the washers, etc., off and the prop "should" slide right off.<br />Before installinganother prop, clean the prop-shaft up to look like new, then grease the splines with a heavy-duty wheel bearing grease, then slide the prop on...replace the tab washer and nut, and tighten to about 50 ft-lbs, and find the tabs that line up with a slot...if they don't, tighten until a tab lines up. Lay a screwdriver blade on the tab and gently tap the tab into the slot.
