prop is it fixable

:( I hit a log and broke off most of one of the blades on my 25 Evenrude. question is can this be fixed or junk it? Motor is ok dident bend shaft! :) Went back and marked log though!!!

George,<br /><br />Sure it can. Most prop shops can handle that.<br /><br />You may want to get a price comparison however.

George ,I'm going to assume this was an aluminum prop.If so ,I wouldn't bother with attempting repair but simply buy a new or good used one.Also,it is highly likely that you have some bend in the prop shaft.I would have propshaft run out with dial indicator after removing prop.

In south-central indiana, local boat shop sends prop to not so local prop-shop for rebuilds. local boat shop said that props can ususally be rebuilt UP TO 3 times (depending on condition/damage). Have had two props attended to. Both are in super condition now. If memory serves, was about $40 to rebuild.

I have had two props fixed here in Wisconsin runs about $50 a prop, If you can find a good used one cheaper go for it if not fix this one either way I would make sure you have a spare prop for the boat.

Thanks for all the input. Checked with marina and said was not worth fixing.
