k im gonna start my engine it has the hose hook up on the side of the out drive but im gonna drop it in a barrel see if the impellors still good would it be allright to run it with out the prop cause i wanna check the fwd reverse make sure it ingages allright....Thanks

You can run it without the prop, not an issue. Actually it is quite a bit safer to run without the prop.

Plus, when you drop your prop in a bucket and get the RPM's too high, it cavitates badly and affects the amount of water getting into your intake.
