recently bought an older ski boat with an OMC 185

my WOT is only reaching 3100 rpm or so?
My current prop is 14.5x19 is this correct for an 18' ski boat.

Also takes a while to plane out on take offs feels as if its loosing power or just lagging until it planes...once planned though it runs prettly good WOT 3100? or so at 35 MPH or little more

Re: prop pitch help

First we need to know what the max RPM recomendation is for that particular engine.
Speed is not important at this point, it's just a result of how it is set up. we only have 1 gear so we need to make sure the RPM is correct first.

WOT RPM's seem way low regardless of what settup you have, a manual will tell you for sure, but I am guessing you should be at least in the 4000-4400 range.
