Prop problems

I recently purchased a new prop 14.5x19 quick silver, to replace my slightly worn 14.5x19 vortex prop. The boat revs high on rpm and feels like I have the trim all the way up out of the water, but it's all the way down. At low rpm it seems fine. It looks and feels like the water is being air:confused:ated. I lifted the motor to see if a plastic bag was caught around the lower unit. Thats pretty much what it feels like. But everything looked fine. I increased the rpm to 4500 and the rpm would hold then go to 5200 then back down you can really feel it when you drive the boat. Motor is fine. I removed the prop to see if it was slipping in the plastic bushing, and it wasn't . Something is wrong and I am not sure of what it is. The boat has always run fine up until I changed the prop. Any advice would be helpful.

Re: Prop problems

That sure sounds like some sort of a hub problem or perhaps the prop does not fit right allowing exhaust to leak into the blade area.Too much space between hub and gearcase?

Re: Prop problems

I just returned the prop for a full refund. They are going to repair the old one, and I will see if that solves the problem. Thanks for your help.
