I have an OMC Cobra 5.0 with a Ford 302 i/o on my boat, I put a new prop on, adjusted the cables, and when I start my boat and put it in forward or reverse, the boat goes nowhere. What is the problem? Is it the prop shaft or what?

eBay or check with your local dealer for old stock.

Check the coupler. Have you been pulling the drive every year to check alignment?

What brand of Prop, and does it use a replaceable Hub?

Is this a new to you boat ? If not, did it go into gear previously ? If it is in fact an unknown to you, perhaps might be worth checking those cables again..or perhaps it could even be the cone clutch slipping, if you have such a thing there. I know some omc/VP collaboration drives certainly have a cone clutch. Often can wear and slip…or quite commonly, struggle to grip/engage, when the gearbox has water ingress and/or the wrong/thinned oil in there. Worth a look, if you haven’t already.
