I have a 115hp Evinrude motor and a 13x19 prop on it, when i am going at a good clip , it feels like the engine will rev higher but the speed will reduce, i think that maybe the prop is starting to spin, my question is, when replacing the prop ($37 on Ebay for a recond)should i replace the thrust washer, nut and pin? Is there anything else i should rplace while doing this?

Re: prop question

Before spending any money I'd get some rpm/speed readings.

First and most important the rpm at wot but also if the rpm actually go up while speed goes down?

What boat is it on?
Is the prop in good shape?
How is your setup (trim, motor mounting height)?
Did it use to work OK or was it always like this?

Re: prop question

Pin, yes. As long as the prop is the same type that uses the same hardware, reuse it as long as it's in decent condition. Check your gearlube as long as you're down there.

Re: prop question

1981 115hp Rude 13x19 prop on a 17' 1979 Ranger Aztec bass boat.
Hole shots were great and top speed on plane at about 50 mph. Was running great.

How do i check the pin, as you can see im a novice at this boat stuff but mechanically inclined.

Re: prop question

If you were doing 50 with a 19" there hardly was a problem.

What do you get now?
