Prop removal ,Volvo 270

I posted this before,and got no response . Maybe I'm not giving enough info?
I removed the bolt and the cone from the prop shaft,but the prop will not come off.
1985 bayliner trophy 270 OD. I tried lightly tapping with a hammer,applying leverage from two sides. Will not come off. It is an old boat,and could be seized. I just don't want to break anything. Please anyone who has taken one of these off,let me know what to do.

Your going to have to get a prop-puller. It's like a gear puller, but made for removing stuck props. Make sure you clean and grease the splines when you put it back on.

Just another alternative to consider if it is truly siezed...because often times prop pullers are not cheap, and occasionally if it is REALLY siezed the puller may actually not even work.

If this is a prop that is damaged and/or not of any substantial value, it might be less expensive to just cut it off and throw it away.

But make sure you know dang well what you are cutting. Go too deep and you will cut the prop shaft, which is very expensive to replace.

If any of this makes you feel uncomfortable, and you admit yourself that you "are great at breaking stuff", pay a local marina to remove it and/or cut it off. Probably 1 hour labor or less, and they will already have the tools and have experienced this many times, and they will have some liability if they do something wrong that hurts the shaft.

Thanks,I do a lot of matal work,and can probably cut it off. I have soaked it over night,and will use a little heat. If she dosn't come off,I'll end up cutting her off.
