I have a 1975 650 3 cyl. Believe it or not I lent the boat to my brother in law, thick or what, anyway now I need a new prop. My problem is I didn't have the forsight to measure the prop diameter before I sadly watched it roll out of my driveway. Now I don't know which prop to order or buy. My question is how can I find out what the diameter used to be, and while we're at it the pitch. thanks for your help.

Re: Prop selection

there should be part numbers on the hub either between the blades or in a recess in the face that goes against the thrust washer, assuming it was a merc prop a merc dealer should be able to tell you the prop size from the numbers. This guy may be able to help if you have no joy.e-mail:propdok@aol.com
good luck

Re: Prop selection

When you have the number, post it here. If the number is complete it can be identified right off.

May look something like 48-73140A40.

If you know how the old prop performed (boat gross weight, rpm at wot, hole shot, top speed) you could even take advantage of the situation and get a different prop dimension to meet your needs.
