I have a 2003 18ft Lund Mr. Pike Aluminum fishing boat w/Merc. XR6 150hp. It has a Mercury Tempest 21 pitch prop, but maximum rpms is 5100. A prop person said to raise the motor leaving one hole from the highest setting. He said this would increase rpm and speed. The motor is currently in the second hole from the top. The fin above the prop is about 1 -2" above the bottom of the boat. I was wanting to get some opinions before I raise the motor if this made sence?? Total weigh of rig when on the water is 2300 pounds.<br /><br />Thanks!!
