prop shaft grease

'02 volvo penta 5.0gl
Clymer's manual states that i need "volvo penta prop shaft grease" part # 1141644. i recently bought Amsoil "special formula synthetic water resistant lithium complex grease" for the gimbal bearing, and the service guy said that the same grease can be used for the prop shaft. what's your take?

I'm sure that will work just fine.You can use about any grease on the prop shaft splines.

Most of the guys now a days say anything made by Amsoil is the best of the best, And nothing eles out there can beat there stuff And they must get good money for it, Have you seen there performance boat they have.

The blue Triple Guard grease from any Johhny-Rude dealer is the real waterproof grease..It looks the same at the end of the season as it does when you grease the shaft.
I'm sure the Amsoil grease is good stuff too...
As long as its greased yearly about any grease will do..
