the 11-3/4 is diameter the 17 is pitch. as far as the best prop for your boat we need more info such as rpms at wot. (wide open throttle) i don't know the specs on that engine but if your above recommend rpms you need to go up in pitch and if below go down ex-sample at wot your running 4600 rpms and the motor should run at 5000 you need to get a 15 pitch prop hope this helps a little

thanks,<br />my next trick is to get WOT rpm, i assume this can only be done with a tacho on the water as i do not have one of those load bearing finless prop but not a prop thingies(cant for the life of me think what they are called). If there is another way then i would appreciate any ideas.

I think the "not a prop thingy" you are refering to is a dynomometer. Not many people have one.Your next move is to bet yourself a tach hooked up fro your engine.I'm guessing that your setup will be just fine with a 60hp driving a 14 ft rig using an 11 3/4 X 17" prop.I used same prop on a 83' 60 hp rude driving a 15 ft sport whaler and got right at 6000 WOT.Also pulled a skier up easily with same setup. However ,without a tach to confirm engine performance you are flying blind.
