Hi all, apologies for not having full info requested but my boat isn’t available to collect it all at the moment. Hopefully this is enough to go on:

boat: 29’ searay sundancer 290 (8,500lbs based on google search)
enginges: twin 95 mercruiser 4.3
Outdrives: think alpha1 (def not bravo 3s)
Current props: 14.5x19 (port and starboard are pitched in the opposite direction)
RPMS @wot: 3,500-3,700

issue: low power/ trouble getting on plane

Based on my research I think a 14.5x16 should bring me to the 4400 rpm range, but looking for confirmation/suggestion.

also can I get the current props repitched?

let me know if this is enough to go on or if more info is needed

thanks!

AFAIK Alpha 1's have a 1.62 GR. If that's the case you should probably be using 16P props. And you should see rpm's in the 4600 range. Th GR should be stated on the outdrives somewhere.

You’ve something wrong with something somewhere. Have a look round everything from water in fuel, trim, weight distribution...to engine health.
