Well, my 2 cents would be we still need a minumum of 5500 loaded....see what Dhadley thinks.

Can someone explain the 5500RPM rule... Does it keep the engine clean ??

Yep. At 5800 wot the combustion temp will be less that it is at 5500 wot. Less heat = less coking. Less coking = less rings sticking.<br /><br />Ever seen a race motor with stuck rings? Neither have I.
