Hi all,

I recently installed a new Volvo prop on my 2008 Glastron Ds-205 (20.8ft) deck boat and took it out to try it. It's a 14 1/2 diameter with a 21 inch pitch and she ran horrible and wouldn't plane out. It was running about 10mph at 3,000 rpm at WOT and my engine calls for 4400-4800 at WOT. I had 4 kids and one other adult on the boat. I like to be able to cruise and pull tubes occasionally. It ran ok with 14 1/2 X 19 pitch that I had on it before but I just wanted to see if I could get better performance with recommendations. My question is how far down in pitch should I go from a 21 or is the 19 the best option?

Boat weight: 2950
horse power: 220

If your boat normal load is 2 adults and 4 kids, and your previous WOT was between 4400-4800 RPM then yes, keep the 19.

If under normal load your not reaching WOT RPM, then tell use what you are reaching and we can help

I’m on the water now with 7 adults with a 15x17 pitch and the boat will not go past 3,000 rpms and no more than 10 mph. This is the first time taking it out this year and it’s been winterized and stored properly. It ran great before winterizing it. just put in new spark plugs, new fuel filter, clean air filter, fresh fuel and same results. Starts and runs great. It’s revs up great in neutral . It reaches its rpm without a prop on it. Same prop I used last without problems. I’m puzzled

It ran good before winterizing and now it doesn't
Need to do a compression test.
