I have a 20ft crownline bow rider with a 5.7 litre and a alpha 1 mercruiser outdrive, I recently damaged what I believe to be a basic stock prop. I'm not sure of the pitch dimensions. I've been wanting to purchase a better performance prop for some time now I have no choice the old one is trashed. I don't have much knowledge of prop info. So if anyone had any kind of suggestions I would sure appriciate them. I typically do a lot of tubing and kneeboarding so I'd like something that helps to jump out of the water on the low end without losing a lot of top end speed as well, any help would be very appriciated thanks in advance

Re: Prop suggestions?

Since you dont have a prop to test with, get a cheap 19p 3 blade alum and put it on.
Next read this ESSENTIAL DATA REQUIRED.
Then do the tests and post the results and you will get some good responses.

Re: Prop suggestions?

Actually I would suggest you look for all the markings on your factory prop...the damaged one. Take it off the boat and look it over.

The pitch will very likely be labeled somewhere. Or a part number that many here can decode...

Or take your damaged prop to a prop repair shop and have it rebuilt. You'd be stunned at what they can do, when you think they can't....entire blades are indeed replaceable, and economically at that. They can certainly help you identify pitch.
