Prop Turning In Neutral

I have a 4.3 L merc with alphe 1 drive and the propellor keeps turning when i come out of forward gear and into neutral, its not a major problem (or is it) as i just put it into reverse then back into neutral again. anyone any ideas as to why this is happening.

Assuming you mean it's actuall coming out of gear and on muffs, it's normal. Just the circulation of the gear lube

Hi Don S, no this is happening whilst out on the lake, like I said its not a major issue for me as i know just to slide it into reverse then neutral again, but if someone else is driving whilst I'm skiing etc then i have to remind them what to do, a bit annoying and would ideally like to sort it.
