Prop upgrade

Any body changed their prop on an 1986 Jhonson 28 SPL? If so please let me know what your results were. I am not sure which one to go with for a few more mph. I currently have the stock prop on it now.

How many RPMs do you turn at WOT?

I dont have an RPM guage. Is there a way to test for WOT RPMs?

we need info from a couple of test runs.
You will need a tach like the tinytach or a lazer tach.Also beg,borrow or buy a gps for speed.
In the mean time be sure the motor is in excellent tune and throttle opens all the way.
Raise the motor on the transom using sticks to hold up till its tight.
With the old style gearcase you won't be able to go too far but raise it till venting,(cavitation
becomes a problem. Tell us about the boat weight,material,and prop size.Usually near the base of the blades.Lighten and balance the load.
