Finally got through the break in on my new boat, now I have a question for you all about my prop selection. This is what I have:

Proline 20ft. walkaround
150 optimax with a mercury vengeance 17 ss prop

wot with a small amount of trim gives me about 5000 rpms with two people in the boat and a half tank of fuel. Trimed out only gives me 5350 rpms. If I trim any more than that, I actually lose speed and the prop is almost out of the water. Everyone that I have talked to has told me that this is the prop that the book calls for and they can't believe that I'm not turning more rpms. Does anyone else have this setup and what are your thoughts on it. Thanks

Alan
