Re: prop

Stiletto is targeted at the "standard" ss replacement market. Very good props. They may not run as high an X dimension as a Turbo but a real good choice.

Re: prop

I found the Stiletto to be really fast, and a bit more smooth and forgiving as compared with its sibling, the Turbo. Nice performance on my sterndrive. Their website is:

http://www.precisionpropeller.com/

Re: prop

I don't mean to hijack this thread but how is the stiletto compared to OMC SST?

Re: prop

No problem Dave, a very good (related) question.

The Stiletto is aimed at the SST replacement market. On outboards they might be considered to be a slight step up, almost like a Raker. I say outboards only because with an outboard we have the ability or option to raise the motor easily.

Re: prop

Mine is set up pretty good right now. I am able to get 5800 with the SST (11 1/2 X 19) with just me, a full tank and fishing gear. I like the idea that the Stiletto has a 18 pitch to get a few more rpm's. That extra rpm would allow me to use the prop with heavier loads (2 of us fishing and a cooler of beverages). It's only a 15' skiff with an 89 J50 on it and a Stiletto would be my 4th prop. I've got all the bases cover with props but that Stiletto could be my all around prop.

How is the cupping and lift compared to the SST?

Thanks.

Re: prop

I've found that the lift is comparable to a Raker in the V4 & V6 line. I have no reason to suspect that the ones like you mention wouldnt have good lift also. At least like an SST or SST II.

Dave, email me at dhadley50@aol.com and use iboats as the subject line (so I wont trash it). Get a quick count on the number of splines on your prop or shaft.
