Prop?

I am very new to this stuff so here we go. I bought a used skeeter i think its an 80's but it did not have a motor, so i bought a 78 90 hp mercury 6cyl with no prop, I dont know what prop to buy for it, the boat is 17.5 foot long. Can some body please help me?

Its difficult to estimate the weight and style of your Skeeter it does appear dry weight is around 1,000 to 1200lbs.Motor gear ratio is 1.7 .1 As a guess I would start with a 17" pitch.
You may be able to find a dealer that would let you try props if your intending to buy.You will need to make a sizeable deposit.You might ask at Johns Old Mercury Web Site,Give them some details on the boat,try to pin down the year.
